Marissa Bechta co-founded Cooper Partners in 2005 after stints with Authur Andersen and then as a senior manager with Ernst & Young. Cooper Partners is a boutique taxation firm in the accounting industry, offering specialist taxation, superannuation and business advisory services. Focusing on a niche market of large privately held businesses, high networth individuals and small cap emerging listed companies, Cooper Partners aims to take a personalised, tailored and solution-driven approach with clients. Starting the business from scratch, Ms Bechta has helped build the team from five to 25. As part of her professional development, Ms Bechta keeps up-to-date with technical changes within the industry and is looking to move to cloud-based technology. A sports fan, Miss Bechta holds a treasury role on the board of Athletics WA. Last year she was one of 30 participants in the Department of Sport and Recreation’s Perth Stadium Sports Fans User Group. This involved providing insights, suggestions and feedback on the new sports stadium and meeting with the premier.
