Trenton Barrett co-founded Perth Urology at the age of 35, along with five other urologists, all seeking to revolutionise the traditional specialist–practitioner model.
Unlike most specialist doctors, the co-founders at Perth Urology share patients and income, providing the team with the flexibility to sub-specialise and refer patients to the most appropriate doctor at Perth Urology without affecting individual income.
As the youngest doctor in his team, Dr Barrett is seeking to disrupt the industry link between patient referrals and income, valuing a patient-first policy and developing a greater work-life balance.
Dr Barrett brings a breadth of international experience to his business, having completed a fellowship in Adelaide, a sub-speciality fellowship in the UK through Leicester General Hospital, an ‘observership’ at University College Hospital London, and training in microsurgery at Cornell in New York City.
