KalNorth Gold Mines was a gold exploration company in the Kalgoorlie goldfields. The company was delisted from the ASX in August 2022, after two years of suspended trading.
KGM had tenement holdings covering over 1,200km2 in a regional arc approximately 50-80km north-east of Kalgoorlie. Collectively known as the KalNorth Gold Field, the tenement holdings comprised four 100% owned, adjoining projects – the Lindsay’s, Kurnalpi, Kalpini and Mt Jewell fields. The Company also has a Joint Venture project with Mithril Resources Limited (ASX: MTH) over the non-core Spargoville asset, located south of Kalgoorlie.
KalNorth officially transitioned from explorer to gold miner in January 2013, when first production commenced from the Parrot Feathers open cut mine at the Lindsay’s field. Due to a marked deterioration in the gold price, subsequent to commissioning, the mining program at Lindsay’s ceased on 3 August, 2013 and the mine was put on care and maintenance.
The company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in January 2005 as Carrick Gold (ASX: CRK). In October 2012, the company changed its name to KalNorth Gold Mines (ASX: KGM).
