John McKinstry

John McKinstry is a mining engineer with extensive experience in open pit and underground mining, operations and development with international mining companies, specialising in small mines. He has held senior management positions in gold and base metal mines within Australia and overseas.

Mr McKinstry held general management positions in MIM, Normandy, Newmont and Round Oak Minerals; was chief executive of North Queensland Metals & Catalyst Metals, chief operating officer of Condor Metals, and managing director of KalNorth Gold Mines. He has also managed the Midas gold mine in Nevada, the Martha gold mine in New Zealand, the True North gold mine in Canada, and was involved in mining and development projects in Papua New Guinea and West Africa.

Mr McKinstry holds a Bachelor of Engineering from University of Queensland, and a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from the Mt Eliza Graduate School in Victoria.
