Simon Youds is a qualified mining engineer and holds a MBA from Deakin University.
Mr Youds has over 20 years of experience in exploration, project development, operational experience, building mines and establishing production in a vast range of commodities and countries including Africa, Asia, South America, PNG and Australia.
Mr Youds was the managing director at Consolidated Minerals in Australia and chief executive at African Iron in the Republic of Congo. He has been instrumental in the startup of a number of gold mining operations in Africa including as mining manager at the North Mara Gold Mine in Tanzania, as mine superintendent at Barrick Gold’s Bulyanhulu Gold Mine in Tanzania, and as project director at the Bibiani Underground Gold Mine in Ghana. He was also a member of a multi-disciplinary team with WMC to nearly triple uranium production at Olympic Dam, the world’s largest uranium mine.
