Shannon Coates is a qualified lawyer, Chartered Secretary and company secretary with over 25 years of experience in corporate law and compliance. She has extensive experience in a wide range of corporate and commercial matters including strategy, remuneration, mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity capital markets, risk management and compliance, regulation and corporate governance. Ms Coates has provided corporate advisory and company secretarial services to public-listed companies across the Australian, London, Hong Kong and Johannesburg stock exchanges, with a focus on resources.
She has been the managing director of Source Governance, a national company secretarial and governance service provider. Prior to that, Ms Coates was the legal and compliance counsel to Perth-based corporate advisory firm Evolution Capital Partners, which specialises in the provision of corporate services to ASX-, JSE- and AIM-listed companies, for over 8 years.
Ms Coates was a past recipient of the West Australian Women in Mining scholarship, and was selected for the Australian Institute of Company Directors' Chairman’s Mentoring Programme.
