The Department of Treasury and Finance is at the centre of Government decision-making and is responsible for all Treasury functions, RevenueWA and whole-of-government procurement policy.
It is the Western Australian government's principal economic and financial advisor, providing leadership, strategic advice and influence on the delivery of services and outcomes for the benefit of Western Australia.
Initially established as the Department of Treasury, the Department of Treasury and Finance had its role expanded in 2025 with the addition of state revenue and procurement policy from the former Department of Finance.
The Western Australian Government's public sector reform initiative of 2025 also introduced a Financial Government Trading Enterprises (GTE) team for consolidated oversight of the Insurance Commission of WA, Government Employees Superannuation Board, Western Australian Treasury Corporation, and Keystart.
