Toro Energy says it can build its proposed standalone Lake Maitland uranium-vanadium operation for $270 million after a scoping estimation was completed by SRK Consulting Australasia and Strategic Metallurgy. The updated capital expenditure delivers a whopping $45 million reduction to the build compared to the $315 million estimate delivered around 10 years ago for the company’s Wiluna uranium operation.

An exploration blitz by Valor Resources across its uranium prospects in the Athabasca Basin area of Canada has unearthed a swathe of new high-priority targets with more expected once all results are finalised. A total of 11 targets were identified at the company’s Hook Lake uranium project from a recently completed airborne gravity survey, whilst final assay results from a diamond drilling program at the site have also been received.

Diamond drilling north of Strickland Metals’ Millrose deposit near Wiluna has confirmed the presence of a new high-grade gold lode with plans underway to test for extensions to the north and at depth. The company says the new Wanamaker discovery was confirmed with an intercept 40m down dip from a previous intersection initially uncovered in July.

Mineral explorer Godolphin Resources has launched a 25-hole, 1,500m diamond drilling campaign at its Narraburra rare earths project near Temora in central-west New South Wales. The program kicked off following recent approval from the state’s mining regulator and aims to elevate the operation’s legacy resource to a JORC 2012 specification.

Using hyperspectral imagery, Askari Metals has identified numerous rare earth element targets at the company’s Red Peak pegmatite project located on the border of WA’s Gascoyne region. The company made the breakthrough after re-assaying shallow samples acquired from a clay zone at the operation’s Reward deposit.

Perth-based battery technology company and recycler Lithium Australia has appointed an experienced executive and recycling expert as its Chief Executive Officer. Simon Linge has 25 years’ senior management experience within the Bluescope Group and BHP, and most recently was an executive at Pact Group Holdings. He takes the helm of Lithium Australia in coming weeks and will be based in Melbourne.

After further field work, mineral explorer St George Mining believes it has significantly expanded the lithium potential of its Mt Alexander nickel — and now lithium — project 95km west of Leonora in WA. Since first announcing it was on the lithium trail in early September, the explorer has identified an increasing number of pegmatite outcrops in its field mapping efforts across a 15km zone of pegmatite dykes at its project.

Radiopharm Theranostics has linked with US-based nuclear technology specialist SHINE Technologies to ensure supply of a key component of the Melbourne-based company’s radiopharmaceutical products pipeline. SHINE has developed a proprietary isotope production process and the two companies have entered into a clinical supply agreement for the supply of Lu-177 – an important cancer-fighting isotope used in multiple programs across Radiopharm’s portfolio.
