Clough and not-for-profit Orana House have commenced a 12-month reciprocal partnership to work towards ending violence against women.
The partnership was announced in the lead up to the annual 16 Days in WA advocacy campaign, calling on the community to eliminate family domestic violence, which commenced today.
For the duration of the partnership, Clough is set to fund holistic support services provided at Orana House’s SWitCH Centre, including outreach, court support, risk assessment and safety planning, therapeutic group programs and counselling.
The not for profit organisation, in return, would deliver educational workshops to managerial and human resources staff at Clough to ensure instances of domestic violence are managed appropriately.
Orana House would also provide ongoing consultation to the engineering company as they implement a family domestic violence strategy to support staff at risk.
According to the state government, 65% of assaults recorded in WA in 2021 were related to family and domestic violence.
Clough managing director and chief executive Peter Bennett said according to statistics like this, family domestic violence could be impacting any staff members at Clough and the business would not tolerate it.
“Anyone experiencing abuse or harassment will be listened to and believed without judgement. As required, Clough will provide emergency accommodation, cash, replacement mobile phones and laptops,” he said.
Mr Bennett said additional leave and flexible arrangements would be offered to victims of family domestic violence.
“A range of additional holistic supports are also available as needed. With Orana House’s expertise, we hope to equip everyone with the tools required to live and work safely without the threat of violence,” he said.
