Sinead Kaufman

Sinead Kaufman has mining experience across a range of commodities including copper, diamonds, aluminium, bauxite and iron ore.

She joined Rio Tinto in 1997 as a geologist and has since held senior leadership and operational roles across aluminium, copper & diamonds, energy & minerals, and iron ore. Ms Kaufman became the managing director of operations for copper & diamonds in 2018, and minerals chief executive in March 2021.

Ms Kaufman holds a Masters in Mineral Exploration from the University of Leicester, and a degree in Applied Geology with Honours from the University of Birmingham.
