Michael Parker was appointed chief executive of Fremantle Ports in May 2021.
Prior to that, he was the business unit president and managing director/chair of Alcoa Alumina and Alcoa of Australia between September 2015 to October 2019, at the same time as a restructuring of the business along operational divisions under which he also assumed the title president of Alcoa Refining and Australia region. He was vice president of commercial for Alcoa Refining in 2009 and director of business development and marketing for Alcoa World Alumina Australia in 2010. Mr Parker became a member of the Aluminium Committee of the London Metal Exchange in 2007. Mr Parker left Alcoa in October 2019 following an international management restructure.
Mr Parker passed away in April 2024.
