Venus Metals has struck wide, continuous intercepts of gold mineralisation at its Bell Chambers project near Sandstone, WA, which confirmed historical assay results and the geological interpretation for the current 17,000-ounce resource. Better results included 27m @ 2.72g/t from 27m down-hole and 64m @ 1.7g/t gold from 10m down-hole in separate drill holes.

Venus Metals has contracted Murdoch University Associate Professor Aleks Nikoloski to carry out a metallurgical research study into vanadium, iron and titanium recoveries from its Youanmi project near Sandstone, WA. The research is co-funded by the Australian Government and test combined pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical process to recover all three metals from Youanmi oxide ores.

JV partners Venus Metals and Rox Resources have discovered high-grade intersections from their maiden drilling program at the Currans Find JV gold project, located near Youanmi, WA. At Currans Find North, spectacular new intercepts of potentially shoot-controlled and shallow quartz veining included 6m @ 9.82g/t gold from 36m down-hole and 4m @ 5.72g/t gold from 60m down-hole in separate drill holes.

Venus Metals has divested its 50% stake in the Yalgoo magnetite project near Geraldton, WA, to Iranian-based EPC contractor FIJV Pty Ltd for $2.5m and will use the funds to evaluate its gold, vanadium and base metal assets elsewhere in the State. The company will retain exposure to FIJV's plans to develop open cut magnetite mines in the Yalgoo district via a 0.625% royalty on future iron ore concentrate sales.

Venus Metals has identified three, near surface high-grade gold drilling targets at its historical Currans Find mining lease, only 25km south of its Youanmi gold mine in the Murchison region of WA. Priority areas include the new gold-bearing, quartz lode discovery at Taylor's Reef and two prospects at the Red White and Blue mine and Currans North mine defined by anomalous gold assays in drilling and surface sampling.

Small cap listed explorers Rox Resources and Venus metals have joined forces to breathe new life into the historic Youanmi gold mine in a deal that looks like a win win for both parties. With the gold price hovering at around AUD$400 an ounce in 1997, Youanmi was closed down with well over a million ounces still in the ground at good grades.

Venus Metals has delineated five prospective looking gold drilling targets from geophysical surveys completed along the under-explored Youanmi shear zone, centred 5km north of Spectrum Metals' new Penny North discovery near the Youanmi mining centre in the Murchison region of WA. The shear zone hosts the company's mothballed Youanmi gold mine and Spectrum's Penny West gold project.

Venus Metals has generated a new mineral resource estimate of 134.7 million tonnes grading 0.34% vanadium pentoxide for its Youanmi vanadium oxide project near Sandstone in WA. 64% of the mineral resources lie within the confident measured and indicated categories, which will allow the company to accelerate scoping studies and metallurgical test work and define a maiden ore reserve, based on more targeted definition drilling programs.

Venus Metals Corporation has uncovered two promising boxwork gossans at its DeGrussa North copper project, located just 3km north of Sandfire Resources' high-grade DeGrussa copper mine in WA's Meekatharra mining district. Assays results for the rock and soil samples collected from the gossans are expected to be received in about two weeks.

Venus Metals' metallurgical testing of beneficiated oxide ores from the Youanmi project in WA, has shown that heated, sulphuric acid leaching produces recoveries near 80% of the contained vanadium pentoxide content, whilst rejecting 40% of the waste materials. Further work is underway to optimise the process flowsheet for the scoping study and Venus is presently updating the Youanmi mineral resource estimate.

Venus Metals' farm in partner Lepidico has intersected multiple lepidolite-bearing lithium pegmatites at the company's Youanmi project tenements in the Murchison region of WA. Better results include 12 metres grading 0.68% lithium oxide from 6 metres down-hole, 2m @ 1.58% lithium oxide from 31m and 4m @ 0.76% lithium oxide from 23m.

Venus Metals has unearthed two intriguing looking exploration targets from gravity surveys at its DeGrussa North copper project near Meekatharra in WA. The anomalies are located 200m from surface and may be related to sulphide mineralisation. The targets are located 3km north of Sandfire Resources' high grade DeGrussa copper-gold operations and the company is planning follow up ground electromagnetic surveys to help identify their source.

Venus Metals has completed a detailed resource definition drilling program at its Youanmi vanadium oxide project near Sandstone in WA, in preparation for updating the mineral resource estimate for the deposit. The work will allow the company to convert a large part of the existing inferred resource into measured and indicated oxide resources, from which ore reserves can then be optimised.

Venus Metals has entered into a farm-in agreement with the unlisted Pilgangoora Minerals to vend out a number of its lithium exploration licences in WA. The agreement will fast track exploration for lithium bearing pegmatites on 2 leases located near the large Wodgina mining operation, 2 leases near the operating Pilgangoora lithium mines and 2 leases in the historical Poona mining district near Cue in the Murchison region.

Venus Metals has completed a heli-borne electromagnetic survey at its Greenbushes East base metals project in WA, with preliminary interpretations outlining several conductive features which are coincident with historical zinc and copper surface geochemical anomalies. Interestingly, the project is just 20km from Venture Minerals' recent massive sulphide discovery at Thor. Venus is now planning follow up field geological reconnaissance once final results of the geophysical survey are known.

Venus Metals has executed a farm-in and JV agreement with AIC Resources, for that company to earn an 80% interest in 5 exploration tenements within Venus' Doolgunna project near the Plutonic gold mine in WA. The deal requires AIC to spend $175,000 over a 2 year period. The tenements are prospective for volcanic-hosted massive sulphide mineralisation similar to the nearby DeGrussa copper mine and shear-hosted gold deposits such as Plutonic.

Venus Metals has reported some very encouraging results from metallurgical testing of its oxidised vanadium ores at the Youanmi project near Sandstone. The work showed impressive recoveries of up to 70% vanadium from simple acid leaching which also recovered valuable nickel, copper and cobalt credits. The company will now commence a drill program to prove up the oxidised mineral resource and provide samples for more metallurgical work.

Venus Metals' farm in partner Lepidico has intersected lithium mineralisation during drilling at one of the company's Youanmi project tenements in the Murchison region of W.A. Lepidico reported rock chip samples up to 1.71% lithium oxide from outcropping pegmatites on the ground and has secured an option to earn up to 80% of the lithium rights on the licence located 20km from Venus' Youanmi gold operation in W.A.

Venus Metals has announced some excellent upgrades and recoveries from metallurgical test work on fresh ore composites from its Youanmi vanadium project in the Murchison region of W.A. Results showed that vanadium pentoxide grades from a select sample nearly doubled from about 0.7% to 1.34% via simple crushing and separation of a magnetic concentrate. Further test work is underway to improve the overall recovery of vanadium.

Venus Metals has announced exceptional upgrades from preliminary metallurgical test work on vanadium ore samples taken from its Youanmi project in the Murchison region of W.A. Results show that vanadium pentoxide grades effectively double from about 0.7% in-situ to 1.4% with simple crushing and magnetic separation of ore composites into concentrates. The company reports that ongoing test work is underway to increase recoveries of vanadium, titanium and iron.
