Martin Rowley has had a distinguished career for over 30 years in the mining industry, being involved in the financing and development of several successful mines.
After starting his career as an accountant working in both Australia and England, Mr Rowley worked as executive assistant to the board of directors of a large Australian public company from 1980 to 1984. He then established his own resource consulting and investment company and was involved as a shareholder, director and chair of several Australian public resource companies before co-founding First Quantum Minerals in 1996. Mr Rowley served as First Quantum’s chief financial officer and director until January 2007, when he became executive director for business development, a role he held until 2017.
He is also non-executive chair and director of Forsys Metals, a Toronto Stock Exchange-listed company in the uranium sector, having formerly held non-executive director positions, as chair, at Australian Stock Exchange-listed companies Galaxy Resources and Allkem.
