Simon Mark Le Messurier is a mining engineer with over 35 years of experience in hard rock base metal and precious metal mining.
Prior to establishing Federation Mining with Jim Askew in 2018, and becoming managing director in 2020, he spent 7 years as chief operating officer of Evolution Mining where he oversaw and transformed operations across its six wholly-owned gold mines in Australia to achieve record production of over 840,000 ounces in 2017 while reducing costs. Mr Le Messurier spent his earlier career in engineering and senior operations management roles with CRA, WMC, Barrick, Sino Gold and Eldorado Gold.
He holds a Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering (Honours) from the University of NSW, an MBA from University of Adelaide, and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
