Kim Brooklyn, a community service specialist, became chief executive of Parkerville Children & Youth Care in November 2019.
Ms Brooklyn started as a mental health nurse working in hospital settings before becoming a psychologist and worked all over Australia. She spent over 6 years at UnitingCare West, and was deputy chief executive for over 2 years when she left in September 2019 and established Brooklyn Consulting.
Ms Brooklyn has a long history in the design, delivery, evaluation, and senior executive management of community services in Australia. She specialised in working for children, young people, adults, and communities that have experienced current and historical trauma. Her career path emerged out of a strong desire to help people build service systems that matter, and have meaning to the people who access them.
