Jim Simpson
Executive Director / Peel Mining
Jim Simpson is a mining engineer with a 30-year history in the industry, specialising in underground metalliferous mining.
Prior to becoming executive director of Peel Mining in September 2019, he was general manager at Mt Isa Mines and the Peak Gold Mine in Cobar, chief operating officer of TSX-listed Peak Gold, and chief executive & managing director of Aurelia Metals. Mr Simpson has experience from mine management through to equity market participation in the C$328m listing of Peak Gold on the TSX.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining (with Honours) from University of NSW, a Diploma of Business (Frontline Management), and is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
