The former company Phoenix Gold was an emerging Western Australian gold company with a consolidated tenure in a world class gold producing region of Australia. The company’s resources had grown from 595,000 ounces to 3.80 million ounces since listing in 2010 and the reserve was over 1 million ounces. At its flagship Castle Hill project, it had identified a 9 km stock work system close to surface while at its Broads Dam project a higher grade open cut and underground mine was planned.
In December 2015, Evolution Mining completed its takeover of Phoenix after a previous unsuccessful offer.
