MATES in Construction WA (MIC WA) is Australia’s leading industry suicide prevention and mental health and wellbeing organisation. MIC WA focusses on raising awareness, building capacity, providing help and contributing to the knowledge base by doing research.
MIC WA offers an integrated program via General Awareness Training (GAT) and Connector courses. These provide workers with the tools to self-identify when they, their fellow workers or their families are doing it tough. The program embeds a “MATES helping MATES” peer support platform within the worksite.
Workers doing it tough are supported by MIC WA’s Case Management team by assessing individual needs and connecting workers (and their families) to the right community supports and services, while continuing to keep in contact and facilitate the journey.
