Henderson plan for world's biggest trimaran yacht
Design work is nearly complete for the world’s largest trimaran yacht, to be built at the Australian Marine Complex in Perth’s southern suburb of Henderson.
Henderson-based Echo Yachts was established in 2014 as a specialist superyacht builder. Its founding shareholders include Mark Stothard, Jurien Van Rongen and Nick Gardner. Mark and Jurien are also owners and directors of Evolution Commercial, which has been contracted to build Echo’s super yachts.
Echo Yachts initial contract was for the construction of two vessels for one client – an 84 metre luxury trimaran and a 46 metre explorer / shadow vessel. The 84 metre vessel, White Rabbit Golf, has set several records - the largest superyacht built in Australia, the largest trimaran superyacht in the world, and the first diesel electric superyacht built in Australia. It will accommodate up to 22 guests and 30 crew across 4 crew decks. The 46 metre catamaran has also set a first, as the largest fibreglass composite vessel to be built using a vacuum infusion process. It will house a helicopter and up to 11 water craft, including a hovercraft, jet boat, catamaran and jet skis. It will have accommodation for 11 guests and 11 crew.
