Surefire Resources has uncovered two new potential gold targets to the west of its Yidby gold deposit in the Mid West region of WA after receiving results from the company’s latest RC drilling campaign. The new Marshall prospect is a gold mineralised zone about 150m to the west of the Yidby deposit whilst the Fender target features wide gold mineralisation about 400m north-west of Yidby.

After a trio of mineral resource updates across its Goldfields projects, mineral explorer Horizon Minerals has boosted its gold inventory by 91,000 ounces to a new total of 1.24 million ounces. New resources were calculated within the company’s Baden Powell, Windanya and Binduli gold projects amounting to 69,000 ounces and a further 21,500 ounces was added to the company’s tally after acquiring the remaining 50 per cent of its Penny’s Find gold project.

American West Metals has confirmed the presence of a potentially lucrative new copper system at its Storm project in Canada after sifting through preliminary assay results from a recently plunged diamond hole. The discovery sits beneath the operation’s known near-surface mineralisation and has drawn comparisons to some of the world’s premier sedimentary-style copper deposits.

After a hyperspectral survey, Askari Metals has lit up multiple lithium targets at the company’s newly acquired Myrnas Hill lithium project in WA’s Pilbara region. The targets — including one high-priority structure with a strike length of 1.2km — will be the focus of an upcoming field expedition as the company looks to get its boots on the ground as soon as possible.

Fortescue Metals Group has extended its deal with software developer K2fly with an additional six-month contract worth $1.2m for the provision of mining software development services. On the spot x-ray fluorescence analysis on a third drill core pulled from Buru Energy and Sipa Resources' jointly held Barbwire Terrace project south-east of Broome in WA has unveiled broad intervals of disseminated base metal sulphides. The high-grade mineralisation ran up to 23.9 per cent zinc- lead and was joined by a suite of anomalous hits running north of one per cent.

Gold explorer Zuleika Gold has uncovered further promising results from drilling and soil geochemistry work across the company’s large and highly prospective tenement package that sits less than 25km north-west of Kalgoorlie. Some of the best results include a 3m hit going 2.63 g/t gold from 13m and a 223ppb gold anomaly. Once heritage clearance has been received the company plans to kick off its next phase of air core drilling in October.

Lindian Resources will move forward with its plans to develop the Kangankunde rare earths project in Malawi after securing the green light from shareholders to acquire the site’s owner Rift Valley Resource Developments. Shareholders unanimously voted in favour of the purchase this week after Lindian made its first tranche payment in its bid to acquire Rift Valley earlier this year.

ASX-listed Radiopharm Theranostics will be showcasing the potential of one of its tumour-blasting products that targets the deadly pancreatic cancer at a key meeting of nuclear medicine experts in Spain next month. A lecture will be given at a session on new radiopharmaceutical trials and is a watershed moment in the partnership forged by Radiopharm and Germany-based nuclear medicine specialist TRIMT.

Brightstar Resources has received positive results from the first significant drilling program in eight years at its Alpha West prospect near Laverton in the Goldfields region of Western Australia. Assay highlights include a 5m hit going 9.8 grams per tonne gold from 98m whilst another hole recorded a 2m intercept at an impressive 11.3 g/t gold from 88m.

Okapi Resources has tabled a suite of high-grade assay results following a seven-hole, 1440m diamond drilling program at its Enmore gold project in NSW’s New England Fold Belt. The intersections were delivered courtesy of the campaign’s first two holes and include 4m at a solid 8.85 grams per tonne gold from 184m and follows a 2021 RC campaign that delivered a slew of compelling strikes.

Assay results from trenching at Xanadu Mines’ Red Mountain prospect in Mongolia have highlighted a broad zone of shallow gold mineralisation that the company argues has potential for extension at depth. Xanadu says the latest assays combined with historical trenching results define a 350m by 80m zone of highly anomalous gold at its Target 33 prospect, including a higher-grade core greater than 1 gram per tonne gold.

Infinity Mining continues to expand the footprint of lithium-bearing pegmatites at its Tambourah project in WA’s east Pilbara region with further rock chip samples returning up to 1.77 per cent lithium oxide. As the company awaits the final heritage approval to set the rods in motion on a maiden 2500m program, additional rock chip and lag sampling has uncovered another four new lithium-rich pegmatite zones.

Lindian Resources will this week seek shareholder approval to acquire 100 per cent of Rift Valley Resource Developments Limited, the Malawian company that owns the globally significant Kangankunde rare earths project. The company recently completed a series of meetings with authorities in the Kangankunde district and secured a unilateral directive to commence a series of work programs to advance Kangankunde’s development.

DiscovEx Resources has received encouraging gold and base metal results from its initial phase of air core drilling at the company’s Sylvania gold project 15km south-west of Newman in WA. A total of 109 holes for 6060m were drilled across five prospect areas previously defined by a multi-staged soil geochemistry program. Results include gold intersections of 4m at 76ppb and 4m at 68ppb from another hole.

King River Resources has outlined a conceptual development plan for an open-cut mining operation as it draws up plans for production at its Speewah vanadium project in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. With the largest vanadium-in-magnetite deposit based on tonnes and vanadium pentoxide content in the country at Speewah, King River says the open-cut mine will be scaled to five million tonnes per annum of ore to feed an on-site processing plant to produce high-grade magnetite concentrate.

Blackstone Minerals’ recent drilling program at the company’s Gold Bridge gold and nickel-copper project in British Columbia has returned a series of mineralised sulphide hits in Canada’s western-most province. After the successful results, the company is gearing up for more exploration on the country’s eastern coast.

Triangle Energy has taken a 100 per cent holding of oil and gas acreage in Western Australia that is currently producing 700 bopd and holding 617 Bcf and 19 million barrels of potential gas and oil respectively. The deal with Key Petroleum also sees the company buy back the five per cent production royalty from Key, that it says makes the permits more valuable.

Toro Energy says it can build its proposed standalone Lake Maitland uranium-vanadium operation for $270 million after a scoping estimation was completed by SRK Consulting Australasia and Strategic Metallurgy. The updated capital expenditure delivers a whopping $45 million reduction to the build compared to the $315 million estimate delivered around 10 years ago for the company’s Wiluna uranium operation.

An exploration blitz by Valor Resources across its uranium prospects in the Athabasca Basin area of Canada has unearthed a swathe of new high-priority targets with more expected once all results are finalised. A total of 11 targets were identified at the company’s Hook Lake uranium project from a recently completed airborne gravity survey, whilst final assay results from a diamond drilling program at the site have also been received.

Diamond drilling north of Strickland Metals’ Millrose deposit near Wiluna has confirmed the presence of a new high-grade gold lode with plans underway to test for extensions to the north and at depth. The company says the new Wanamaker discovery was confirmed with an intercept 40m down dip from a previous intersection initially uncovered in July.

Mineral explorer Godolphin Resources has launched a 25-hole, 1,500m diamond drilling campaign at its Narraburra rare earths project near Temora in central-west New South Wales. The program kicked off following recent approval from the state’s mining regulator and aims to elevate the operation’s legacy resource to a JORC 2012 specification.

Using hyperspectral imagery, Askari Metals has identified numerous rare earth element targets at the company’s Red Peak pegmatite project located on the border of WA’s Gascoyne region. The news builds upon lithium-focused sampling completed by the company in January that revealed several areas highly anomalous in a suite of rare earths including lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium, neodymium and europium.

ASX-listed explorer Infinity Mining’s Craig’s Rest project in the Leonora district of Western Australia is already looking the goods with a recent rock chip sampling program delivering grades as high as 37.64 grams per tonne gold. The company made the breakthrough after re-assaying shallow samples acquired from a clay zone at the operation’s Reward deposit.

Perth-based battery technology company and recycler Lithium Australia has appointed an experienced executive and recycling expert as its Chief Executive Officer. Simon Linge has 25 years’ senior management experience within the Bluescope Group and BHP, and most recently was an executive at Pact Group Holdings. He takes the helm of Lithium Australia in coming weeks and will be based in Melbourne.

After further field work, mineral explorer St George Mining believes it has significantly expanded the lithium potential of its Mt Alexander nickel — and now lithium — project 95km west of Leonora in WA. Since first announcing it was on the lithium trail in early September, the explorer has identified an increasing number of pegmatite outcrops in its field mapping efforts across a 15km zone of pegmatite dykes at its project.

Radiopharm Theranostics has linked with US-based nuclear technology specialist SHINE Technologies to ensure supply of a key component of the Melbourne-based company’s radiopharmaceutical products pipeline. SHINE has developed a proprietary isotope production process and the two companies have entered into a clinical supply agreement for the supply of Lu-177 – an important cancer-fighting isotope used in multiple programs across Radiopharm’s portfolio.

Estrella Resources has declared a maiden inferred mineral resource estimate of 0.86 million tonnes at 0.66 per cent nickel and 0.42 per cent copper at its T5 deposit in the Goldfields region of WA. The company says the latest estimate underpins an updated JORC exploration target of five to seven million tonnes at 0.7 to 1.5 per cent nickel and 0.3 to 0.5 per cent copper for the basal contact at its wholly owned Carr Boyd nickel project 80km north-east of Kalgoorlie.

Perth-based explorer White Cliff Minerals is now a step closer to a maiden drill program at its Hines Hill rare earths project after securing a land access agreement to launch the probe about 200km east of Perth in WA. The explorer now plans to submit a program of work to the Department of Mines ahead of a projected 100-hole, 3000m AC drilling campaign.
