St George Mining says it is now one of the biggest landholders in Western Australia’s Ravensthorpe region after it was granted an additional two exploration licenses to increase the size of its Myuna Rocks project by 273sq km. The company has identified a slew of new lithium targets in a more than 50km prospective corridor along strike from Allkem’s Mt Cattlin mine.

Shares in Aurum Resources jumped more than 30 per cent this morning after it recorded a whopping 73m intercept going 2.15g/t gold from 172m at its Boundiali project in the West African nation of Côte d'Ivoire. The impressive drill hit contained several high-grade sections, with highlights showing a 4m segment grading 18.63g/t gold from 185m including 1m at a staggering 72.11g/t from 188m.

Oil explorer 88 Energy has officially kicked off operations at its Hickory-1 well in Alaska, with bore preparations complete ahead of perforation and flow-testing, which is expected to be completed this month. Management says that data will provide the crucial first steps on the path to development for its greater Phoenix project that sits on the onshore oil section of Alaska’s north slope.

Galan Lithium has expanded its holdings near the world-class Greenbushes mine to 315 square kilometres after it received an exploration licence for a new tenement less than 30km south of the Western Australian lithium operation. Adding more than 40sq km to its current Greenbushes South project, the company says its latest acquisition contains historical tin workings associated with lithium-bearing pegmatites.

Lindian Resources has delivered more shallow and high-grade hits from drilling at its Kangankunde rare earths project in Malawi, including a monster 19m section at 3.77 per cent total rare earth oxides from surface. The company recently completed its third-phase infill campaign at the operation, aiming to define a significant portion of its inferred mineral resource into an indicated category.

Xanadu Mines says oxide leach testwork on ore from its Kharmagtai copper-gold project in Mongolia has highlighted the potential to conduct commercialised processing and generate significant early cash. The company says leaching tests on the shallower oxidised portion of the project’s mineral resource delivered positive metallurgical extraction results of up to 93 per cent copper and 46 per cent gold.

Channel sampling at Larvotto Resources’ Hillgrove gold-antimony project in NSW has delivered sparkling assays going as high as 63 grams per tonne gold, 13.82g/t silver and more than 30 per cent antimony. Management says the impressive results highlight the high-grade nature of the operation, while samples from the 1.5-million-tonne historical tailings facility recorded gold grades exceeding the average of many operating open pit mines.

Surefire Resources has strengthened its growing ties with Saudi Arabia after signing a new agreement designed to assist in development and investment for its Victory Bore vanadium project in WA’s Mid West. The non-binding agreement with Saudi-based RASI Investment allows both parties to explore a joint venture or co-developer structure to assist in potential downstream processing facilities for offtake from the project.

Lindian Resources has backed up positive recovery results from testwork on ore from its giant Kangankunde rare earths project in Malawi with concentrate grades ranging between 55 per cent and 68 per cent TREO. The company’s latest metallurgical test results confirm achievable recoveries of 70 per cent TREO, in line with results delivered in April last year.

Xanadu Mines says it has recorded early metallurgical recoveries of up to 98 per cent copper and 95 per cent gold from rougher flotation testwork on ore from its Kharmagtai project in Mongolia. Management says the results are in line with or better than previous scoping study assumptions and show a potential value uplift in final prefeasibility study (PFS) recoveries.

Radiopharm Theranostics says it has dosed its first pancreatic cancer patient in the initial phase of a study aimed at providing doctors with an enhanced screening process for the lethal and aggressive disease. The clinical trial is for the company’s patented “RAD301” radiopharmaceutical technology that is designed to detect lesions in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and create better health outcomes.

Ora Banda Mining has discovered a new high-grade lode system at its Sand King deposit near Kalgoorlie, with the first exploration hole at the site delivering a 16m hit grading 5.6g/t gold from 145m. The hole extends mineralisation at the prospect to the north by 100m as Sand King continues to firm as the company’s preferred option to host a second underground gold mine.

Classic Minerals has its sights set on production at its Lady Ada and Lady Magdalene gold deposits in Western Australia after tabling a mining lease application for the Forrestania tenements that contain the two projects. Once approved, the licence will allow the company to mine all the gold resources at Lady Ada and Lady Magdalene, which currently hold a combined 311,050 ounces.

Galan Lithium says it has set the evaporation process in motion at its Hombre Muerto West lithium brine project in Argentina, with the earthworks and lining of its first pond officially complete. The company is targeting first-phase lithium chloride production at the operation in the first half of next year and continues to tick off key infrastructure milestones.

White Cliff Minerals has contracted Expert Geophysics to complete an airborne geophysical survey over its entire Coppermine project in the Canadian province of Nunavut as soon as next quarter. The company says the campaign will use mobile magnetotellurics to image subsurface resistivity and it is expected to highlight and define structural trends to optimise future drill targets.

Classic Minerals appears set for a significant financial boost as it pushes towards production at its Kat Gap gold project after executing a binding term sheet with an international fintech for an initial US$10 million. The agreement with Swiss-based AuResources also provides for the advance of a further US$50 million in five tranches of US$10 million each.

White Cliff Minerals says it is now the single-biggest holder of mineral exploration claims in Canada’s Northwest Territories after it was granted new licence approvals for the province’s Radium Point project. The company is focussed on iron oxide-copper-gold-uranium deposits and silver mineralisation in the area that hosts the historical Eldorado, Echo Bay and Contact Lake mines.

Lithium Universe has secured a prime location for its proposed battery-grade lithium carbonate refinery in Canada after executing an option agreement to purchase a commercial property in the province of Quebec. The location for the facility is between Quebec City and Montreal at the Bécancour Industrial Waterfront Hub, with heavyweight engineering firm Hatch to undertake a comprehensive study for the refinery’s design.

Ora Banda Mining is on track to achieve steady-state production at its Riverina underground gold mine near Kalgoorlie in the June quarter, with capital projects complete and first stopes to be mined next month. First ore from the underground operation was processed as a single batch through the company’s nearby Davyhurst processing plant and returned 16,727 tonnes at 2.74g/t to produce 1383 gold ounces.

St George Mining has defined a series of 1km-long lithium soil anomalies in areas yet to be drill-tested at its flagship Mt Alexander project in WA’s Goldfields region after a successful sampling program. The company is gearing up to drill the new targets as early as next month, with its biggest prospect covering a strike of more than 2.7km.

Novo Resources’ earn-in partner De Grey Mining has recorded significant gold hits from an ongoing air-core and reverse-circulation drill campaign at their shared Becher gold project in WA’s Pilbara region. De Grey has completed 10,500m of a 39,000m drill program at the operation, with initial assays returning positive results including an 8m intercept at 4.74g/t gold from 96m at the Lowe target.

Buxton Resources has identified at least two new and untested porphyry copper-molybdenum drill targets at its Sun Devil and Aztecs prospects that form part of its Copper Wolf project in the US State of Arizona. The two “exciting” targets were defined by a combination of new field mapping and historical data including a helicopter-supported exploration program.

Xanadu Mines boss Colin Moorhead says funding security from the company’s union with Chinese giant Zijin Mining fosters a strong investment case for production at its Kharmagtai copper-gold project in Mongolia. Just last month, the company tabled a staggering resource estimate upgrade for Kharmagtai, jumping to 1.3 billion tonnes with 3.4 million tonnes of contained copper and 8.5 million gold ounces.

Ora Banda Mining’s Sand King deposit near Kalgoorlie is firming as the preferred site for its second underground gold mine following significant high-grade results from its first-phase drill campaign. Assays from the first 17 holes sunk at the operation produced grades considered favourable for underground mining after drilling extended the mineralised system to 1km of strike and 300m below surface.

Javelin Minerals has renewed the exploration licences for its Husky and Malamute projects in New South Wales for an additional three years after getting the green light from the State’s resources regulator. The Perth-based explorer considers both projects to have excellent prospectivity for scandium and rare earths, in addition to precious, base and battery metals.
