Altech Batteries has unveiled a stunning first look at its cutting-edge Silumina Anodes pilot plant in Germany after completing the construction of its laboratory, power supply and wet-circuit infrastructure. The company’s patented high-capacity and high-purity alumina-coated silicon and graphite anodes are designed for use in lithium-ion batteries. Its pilot plant is due to be scaled up to a 10,000 tonnes per annum production facility.

Xanadu Mines has begun a massive 30,000m, four-rig infill diamond drill campaign at its Kharmagtai copper-gold project in Mongolia, with results set to support the company’s upcoming prefeasibility study. The aim of the exploration program is to update the current open-pit mineral resource areas to an indicated category and deliver a maiden ore reserve estimate for the operation.

Lithium Australia is one step closer to bringing its lithium ferro phosphate cathode powder pre-qualification plant to reality after results from independent testing confirmed its product proved more stable than the two leading commercial brands. The combination of commercial grade graphite and LFP demonstrated the potential to support long-lifetime cell designs. The testing was undertaken by NOVONIX Battery Technology Solutions as part of a customer joint materials selection program.

Askari Metals has stepped up its aggressive exploration strategy across two tenements at its Uis lithium project in Namibia where it is targeting previously identified pegmatites. The dual RC campaign forms part of a recently expanded phase 1 program at tenement EPL 8535 from 3000m up to 4000m where it has pinpointed at least four different target zones.

Venus Metals Corporation subsidiary Redscope Enterprises will increase its net smelter royalty from the Youanmi Gold Mining leases to one per cent after signing a deal with St Claire Resources. Redscope currently holds a 0.7 per cent net smelter royalty for the Youanmi leases that will increase to one per cent following the completion of the deal with St Clair handing over its 0.3 per cent share.

Superior Resources has confirmed the discovery of significant molybdenum mineralisation at its Bottletree prospect that forms part of the company’s Greenvale copper project near Townsville in Queensland. Recently received assay results from a drill campaign completed in December show impressive figures with a 6m intercept at 1.39 per cent molybdenum from 470m including a 1m section at an outstanding 5.2 per cent molybdenum from 474m.

Lindian Resources has received positive signs from early phase metallurgical testwork at its Kangankunde project in Malawi with results showing concentrate grades of around 60 per cent rare earth oxides. The company says the test results show that water-only, low-cost gravity and magnetic beneficiation techniques are suitable for the mineralisation found at the operation.

Neometals has increased its ownership in joint venture company Recycling Industries Scandinavia AB (RISAB) up to 72.5 per cent as it moves towards developing Finland’s first vanadium recovery project. The remaining 27.5 per cent of RISAB equity is held by unlisted Australian mineral development company Critical Metals.

Venus Metals Corporation and Rox Resources are headed for a mineral resource upgrade at their Youanmi gold project after impressive new drill results, including a 4m hit at 14.85 grams per tonne gold from 298m. The joint venture partners say the high-grade results confirm significant gold endowment at the project that sits about 480km north-east of Perth.

Infinity Mining plans to dig deeper for gold at its Victor Bore project in the Central Goldfields after new drill results highlighted an 8m hit at 3.46 grams per tonne gold from 56m, including 1m going a solid 21.86g/t gold from 57m. A total of 13 of the 16 holes drilled at Victor Bore returned anomalous results of more than 1g/t gold.

Venus Metals Corporation has upgraded the mineral resource estimate for its Bellchambers gold deposit in WA’s Goldfields region with a 35 per cent increase in tonnage and a 40 per cent rise in gold ounces. The updated JORC-compliant resource now sits at 722,000 tonnes at 1.31 grams per tonne gold for a total of 30,500 ounces at a cut-off grade of 0.5g/t gold.

Infinity Mining has secured a five-year licence extension for its Strelley Gorge project in the Pilbara that is considered prospective for volcanic-hosted massive sulphide-style copper-zinc mineralisation. Just last year the company completed a helicopter electromagnetic survey across the site with initial data showing several conductive targets. Follow-up testing is planned for later this year.

Venus Metals will become a major shareholder in joint venture partner Rox Resources after the companies agreed to consolidate their ownership interests in the greater Youanmi gold project in Western Australia. Shares in Venus jumped more than 20 per cent on the back of the latest announcement to touch 17.5 cents during intraday trading after closing yesterday at 14.5 cents.

ASX-listed ChemX Materials has signed a memorandum of understanding to work towards an offtake deal from its high-purity manganese project in South Australia with US battery technology company C4V. The non-binding agreement is based around the potential supply of high-purity product from ChemX’s Jamieson Tank project on the Eyre Peninsula and is a significant step in the company’s plans to become a sustainable and reliable global supplier of battery materials.

Image Resources has found a silver lining in unforeseen delays caused by a labour shortage, revealing it has used the extra time to consider adding a mineral separation plant to its Bidaminna mineral sands project. The company says the delays have slowed its prefeasibility study, but also allowed it to assess the potential production of only heavy mineral concentrate at the operation, with positive results.

Infinity Mining is eyeing drill targets at its Hillside and Panorama tenements in the Pilbara after beginning a cultural heritage survey with the Nyamal Native Title Group at the two exploration licences. Hoping to start its first Pilbara drilling program for the year, the company has engaged Heritage WA and the traditional owners group to seek clearance for heavy equipment access and pad clearing.

American West Metals is set for an exploration blitz with a new rig at its Storm copper project on Somerset Island in Canada and has scheduled a 10,000m RC and diamond drill campaign to begin within days. The company says its initial drilling phase is designed to define maiden JORC resources within the 4100N, 2750N and 2200N zones where high-grade copper mineralisation starts from surface.

St George Mining has seen its biggest volume of share trading in nearly two months after recording a continuous 121m pegmatite hit in a single diamond drill hole at its Mt Alexander project, 200km north of Kalgoorlie. The company has reported 225m of pegmatites intersected in the same hole as part of its investigation into a wider target identified by a large seismic reflector.

Askari Metals is eagerly-awaiting results from a reconnaissance mission targeting rare earths at Barrow Creek after rock chip samples highlighted results of up to 4553 parts per million total rare earth oxides. The project is within 40km of Arafura’s Nolans Bore deposit that hosts a JORC-compliant mineral resource of 56 million tonnes at 2.6 per cent TREO. Askari believes it may host similar geology.

White Cliff Minerals will focus its rare earths exploration on the company’s Hines Hill, Diemals and Lake Tay projects after the sale of its Yinnetharra lithium-rare earths project to ASX-listed Minerals 260. The company will receive a total of seven million Minerals 260 shares and $100,000 cash for the sale of Yinnetharra in the Gascoyne region of WA. The transaction value of the deal comes to $2.445 million.

Ora Banda Mining directors and London-based investor Hawke’s Point have stumped up a combined $9.2m as part of a $30m capital raise to fund the cost of operating the reimagined underground Riverina project. The company says the well-supported shares placement and planned development of the underground system will help set it on the path to producing 100,000 gold ounces annually by the 2025 financial year.

Ora Banda Mining has been given the green light to start mining at its Riverina underground gold deposit near Kalgoorlie after receiving financial investment decision approval from its board of directors. While the mining decision is still subject to the company securing a capital requirement of about $30 million, the approval supports its 2025 financial year production target of 100,000 gold ounces per annum.

Coda Minerals looks set to press the go button on plans to mine its Elizabeth Creek copper-cobalt project in South Australia after positive results from its recently completed scoping study on the operation. The study has revealed a net revenue of more than $5.7 billion over an estimated 14-year mine life at a pre-tax internal rate of return of 26.5 per cent.

Askari Metals’ bold vision of identifying a major exploration discovery at its Uis lithium project in Namibia has received a timely boost through the signing of a conditional investment agreement with global giant, Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt. The deal, and an accompanying institutional investment raise, would boost the company’s coffers by more than $5.7 million as it aims to beef up exploration.

Ora Banda Mining looks set to pocket $4.2 million in a three-way deal that includes the sale of four non-core tenements to Beacon Minerals and a new royalty agreement with key investor Hawkes Point. Ora Banda has agreed to sell four of its Lady Ida licences in the Goldfields region of WA to Beacon through its wholly owned subsidiary for $2.5 million while still retaining all non-silver and non-gold mineral rights over the tenements.
