Improving efficiency with AI
The rise of AI in property is being driven by the opportunity to simplify complex tasks which are often time consuming and resource intensive. Every project involves thousands of decisions, documents, assessments and interactions and AI is already proving highly effective at reducing the time and resources that go into the planning, design and delivery of property projects.
Today, AI is already having an influence on day-to-day operations across the sector, from feasibility modelling, design review, sales forecasting, community engagement, document drafting and project coordination. All these areas are being reshaped by AI enabled tools, and what once required large teams could now be supported by a leaner workforce equipped with automation.
For large organisations with capital to invest, AI offers a quick transition to improve efficiency and realise real financial savings on large projects. For smaller teams, using AI to deliver work or projects that might once have required 20 people, is now a reality.

Learning to use AI in a property context
To support the industry through this transition, UDIA WA Educate has launched a new Applied AI for Urban Development Professionals training program that is tailored specifically to the needs of WA’s development sector.
This half day, in person course is designed to give professionals a grounded, practical understanding of modern AI tools and how they can be applied across real development workflows. AI Application in the Property Development Lifecycle
A key feature of UDIA WA Educate courses is applied learning and ‘real world’ context. This course is no exceptions, with a workshop session on how AI is being applied across live development projects in WA right now.
Drawing on real life project examples across the full development lifecycle including feasibility, due diligence, planning, communications, document review, and construction.
Applied and Agentic AI
Participants will also learn repeatable prompt frameworks that can be used across their business, with real-world workflow examples spanning consultants, contractors, clients, and stakeholders. Understanding how AI agents can automate repetitive admin and reporting tasks while reinforcing that commercial judgement and industry expertise remains essential is also a key learning outcome.
Presenters will also ensure that drafting balanced responses for sensitive or high-pressure situations and tailoring tone for councils, communities, purchasers, and consultants is understood.
