452 Capital Pty Ltd became a substantial shareholder with a relevant interest of 25,247,322 ordinary shares (5.049%).
Zinifex was formed to acquire certain shares and other interests in entities that operated key assets in the failed Pasminco Group as part of a restructure process that included an IPO.
Zinifex began trading on the Australian Stock Exchange on 5 April 2004.
OZ Minerals was formed through the merger of Zinfex and Oxiana in 2007.

Shares in Leederville-based mineral explorer Smarttrans Holdings Ltd increased 35 per cent today after announcing it has reached agreement in principle with Zinifex Ltd to enter a joint venture.
OZ Minerals has reached a $24 million settlement with Zinifex shareholders who received a stake in the company following its merger with Oxiana eight years ago.
