Investments in medical tech to pay healthy dividends
Billions have been invested to ensure WA remains at the forefront of medical innovation and discovery.
Formed in December 2015 as part of the Federal Government’s Industry Growth Centres Initiative, MTPConnect is a not-for-profit organisation aimed at accelerating the rate of growth of the medical technologies, biotechnologies and pharmaceuticals sectors to increase commercialisation, collaboration and establish Australia as an Asia Pacific hub for MTP companies. It also raises awareness, fosters collaboration and competition, aggregates existing knowledge and shares it with the broader sector. MTPConnect jointly funds projects that address the Sector Growth Priorities and the constraints & gaps identified within the sector.
MTPConnect has 3 hubs in WA: The University of Western Australia, Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research Building, and QEII Medical Centre.
