Sustainable aquaculture search
ONE business looking to take advantage of the global sustainability phenomenon (see story above) is Perth-based ASX-listed aquaculture company Marine Produce Australia (MPA).
Barramundi Group (formerly Marine Produce Australia) is a company that developed and operated the Cone Bay Ocean Barramundi project, a barramundi sea cage farm in the strong tidal ocean waters of Cone Bay in the Kimberley.
MPA was a public unlisted company before being acquired by Singapore-based Barramundi Asia through an $18.5m deal in 2018. It is now a part of the Barramundi Group. In August 2023, the Cone Bay operations MPA Fish Farms and MPA Marketing were sold to Tassal.
