As Minister for Health and Mental Health, the Hon. Meredith Hammat MLA is leading reforms to strengthen Western Australia’s health system and ensure equitable access to care across the state.

Before entering Parliament in 2021, Ms Hammat served on the expert panel behind the Sustainable Health Review, which continues to shape WA’s health priorities.

With more than 20 years in the union movement, including 12 years as president and secretary of UnionsWA, she brings a deep understanding of workforce wellbeing and community advocacy.

Raised on a farm near Broomehill, Ms Hammat remains a strong voice for regional health and mental health access.
