Work has been called off at the PACT site, following the death of a man in his 60s.
Work has been suspended at an Applecross building site this morning following the death of a construction worker.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Kintail Road at about 7am, where PACT Construction is building a high-rise retirement village for developer Norup + Wilson.
A man in his 60s was fatally injured on the site.
PACT Construction is part of WA residential building giant ABN Group, which suspended work at the site immediately following the incident.
ABN Group managing director Dale Alcock expressed his condolences to the worker’s family, friends and colleagues.
“This is an incredibly sad day," Mr Alcock said.
"Our heartfelt thoughts and sympathy go out to his family; we are offering them our fullest support at this very difficult time.”
The company is offering counselling support to all employees and contractors at the site, and to ABN Group’s wider workforce.
Worksafe is investigating.
