The list, published today, ranked the University of Oxford as the number one institution for the ninth year in a row.
The University of Western Australia is the state’s highest ranking tertiary education body on the Times list at 149th.
However, the state’s oldest university has fallen in its ranking of 143rd from last year’s list.
Curtin University was ranked in the 251st – 300th category in the 2025 list, lower than the 201st to 250th category it placed on the 2024 list.
Murdoch University has also dropped its position on the 2025 list, ranking in the 401st-500th category compared to the 351st to 400th category the year prior.
Edith Cowan University’s ranking remains unchanged, in the 351st to 400th category for the third year in a row.
Nationally, the University of Melbourne is Australia's highest ranking school on the Times list at 38th, followed by Monash University in Melbourne at 58th and the University of Sydney at 61st position.
UWA is ranked eighth among Australian universities on the Times list, preceded by the Australian National University in Canberra, the University of Queensland, UNSW Sydney, and the University of Adelaide.
Despite this, ANU, University of Queensland, UNSW and University of Adelaide dropped in their rankings compared to the 2024 list.
