ASX listed telco upstart Vonex is poised to start beta testing of its exciting new “Oper8tor” telecommunications App that can seamlessly link voice calls and messages across multiple platforms and devices around the world.
Oper8tor is set to take the heat out of the user decision making process that leads to the adoption of one, or possibly even multiple voice communication platforms such as Skype or Whatsapp to name just two.
Users of Oper8tor will be able to talk to each other in real time even if all users are on different communications platforms.
The company said this would the solve the issue of time delays and technical trouble when multiple parties seek to communicate using differing technologies.
The first opportunity to commercialise the Oper8tor technology will be through the teleconferencing service provision industry.
The beta testing will involve up to 5,000 controlled users and will target data collection, bug report testing and tracking, scalability testing and refinement of the user experience.
Once this is completed, Vonex plans to carry out a soft launch of the Oper8tor APP into the European market.
This will consist of the Oper8tor Conference, Oper8tor Message and Oper8tor Voice functions. A fourth component, Oper8tor Video, will be introduced at a later stage of its development.
Vonex Managing Director Matthew Fahey said: “This is a very exciting time for Vonex as we start the testing of the much‐anticipated Oper8tor app components in preparation for our planned launch of the mobile app in 2019.”
The Oper8tor Conference component will focus on ease of use, allowing scheduling and joining of conferences with minimal hassle to consumer and enterprise users alike.
It will use Vonex’s Call Blast technology to facilitate automatic joining of all participants to a conference.
Oper8tor Conference will also have a real‐time editor for shared and collaborative notes, which the company said will enhance collaboration between teams.
Oper8tor Message will allow inter‐platform messaging across selected social networks, as well as between users of Oper8tor itself whilst the Oper8tor Voice function will allow for unscheduled calling between traditional landlines or mobiles and social media users.
The fourth component, Oper8tor Video, will provide cross‐social‐platform video conferencing capabilities when complete.
The global video conferencing market is expected to expand at a compounded annual rate of 7.9 percent from 2018 to 2026 before reaching some $10.5 billion by the end of the forecast period according to Transparency Market Research.
