Fast-moving telco innovator Vonex, has been granted a US patent for its “Oper8tor” smart phone voice and messaging App, just as it completes third-party testing. Vonex said the patent validates the unique, cross-platform communication capability of the App and the upstart telco will now move to a closed user group for a review of the App’s stability and scalability ahead of the commercial roll-out of the product.
The ASX-listed telco said the third-party testing program included the cross-platform message and call blast functionality of the Oper8tor App that aims to seamlessly link all voice calls as well as messaging across multiple social and other platforms and devices.
Vonex now plans to launch a closed user group to review of the App’s stability and scalability ahead the expected commercial roll-out of the product that will target the inclusion of conference, voice, messaging and video functions across different channels. The closed user group of up to 500 users is by invitation only with users to test version 1.0 of the “Oper8tor” App.
User feedback on the test program due to commence next week will be incorporated in an updated version 1.X to be rolled out to a wider community, including investors, through a controlled launch, according to Vonex.
The company also has enlisted a London-based, boutique investment advisory, Ragnar Capital Partners LLP, to target potential partners who could help take the “Oper8tor” App through its roll out and commercialisation phases. Ragnar’s long prior relationship with Vonex includes the successful introduction of a global institutional fund to the company at the time of its IPO, back in 2018.
Vonex Managing Director, Matthew Fahey, said: “Now we are looking for a partner that could bring complementary expertise and support to further enhance the application’s design and functionality as we roll it out and commercialise. We worked with Ragnar Capital during our Initial Public Offering and we were really impressed by how the company was able to assist Vonex during that time. Ragnar has reach into Europe and the Asia-Pacific regions which is a good fit as we target the right partner to help drive Oper8tor into the market.”
Vonex Chief Technology Officer, Angus Parker, said: “The development of Oper8tor to date has been a credit to our team in getting it from concept stage through many phases of development and testing to a functional app. We are now moving forward involving larger scale, controlled users to give us the feedback we need to improve functionality of the App, including user experience.”
