Trade surplus surges thanks to coal, iron ore

A strong surge in exports in August shows that coal exports have recovered, after floods over the summer shut down many mines, economists say.The trade surplus increased to $3.1 billion in August from $1.817 billion in July, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) said.
