Tracey Horton joins GPT

Sydney-based property company GPT Group has announced the appointment of Tracey Horton as a non-executive director, the second Western Australia-based director to join its board.

Ms Horton joins Gene Tilbrook as WA's second representative on the ASX 100 company's board.

She is the chairman of Navitas and a member of the Australian Takeovers Panel, the national board of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Bain & Company WA advisory board.

Ms Horton previously worked as a Winthrop Professor and dean of the University of Western Australia’s Business School and in senior management and executive roles with Bain & Co in North America, Poynton Partners and the Reserve Banks of Australia.

GPT chairman Vickki McFadden said Ms Horton’s appointment represented a valuable addition to the GPT board and continued the process of board renewal.

“Tracey brings a wealth of experience gained at both board and executive levels in Australia and overseas, and I look forward to her contribution for the benefit of the group and our stakeholders,” she said.

Mr Tilbrook was appointed to the board in 2010 and is also a non-executive director of Orica Limited and Woodside Petroleum, as well as a councillor for the Australia Institute of Company Directors WA.

The GPT Group is a real estate investment trust based in Sydney, and has been publicly listed since 1971.
