Premier1 Lithium's bid to increase its Western Australian portfolio has taken another step, following two key appointments.
The lithium junior told the market Hugh Thomas had begun his tenure as non-executive chair, effective immediately, taking over from Nicholas Limb.
Additionally, Premier1 has appointed Paul Smith – a former geologist with Iluka Resources – as the company’s exploration manager, who will begin his new role on July 8.
Earlier this week, Cameron Knox was appointed company secretary, following Richard Taylor’s resignation from the role.
It has been an eventful 2024 already for the lithium aspirant, which announced earlier this month that Jason Froud had been appointed managing director.
In February, the company changed its name from SensOre to Premier 1, in line with the de-merger of the company’s business.
Four directors – Robert Peck, Robert Rowe, Adrian Manger and Anthony O’Sullivan – also resigned from the board.
On March 15 it was confirmed Mr Taylor would be stepping down from his role as chief executive officer due to a variety of reasons, although would remain a director of the company from June onwards.
Mr Froud said he was confident the appointments would hold Premier1 in good stead moving forward.
“Their respective skill sets augment and add significant capabilities to the company,” he said.
“Both appointments finalise the board and executive team of Premier1 with the company’s attention now on making a significant lithium discovery by building and developing an attractive lithium exploration portfolio across Western Australia.”
During its March 2024 quarter, Premier1 revealed it had completed an initial drilling program at its flagship Abbotts North project, which is located 35km north of Meekatharra.
Premier1 shares last changed hands at 28 cents, down 3 per cent, as of 11.48am WST.
