Another new CEO of a WAFL club has been appointed, with Subiaco Football Club identifying Peter Capes' successor.
The Subiaco Football Club has appointed former longstanding assistant WA police commissioner Kellie Properjohn as its chief executive.
Announced on Thursday night, Ms Properjohn will officially begin her new role next month, however she is no stranger to both the Lions and WA football.
“It’s an honour to take on this role at one of WA’s most respected football clubs,” she said.
“I have greatly valued my time working in the AFL system, both at Subiaco Football Club over the past nine years and during my five years spent with the Fremantle Dockers as the leadership and culture consultant.
"These experiences have given me a deep understanding of what it takes to make a club successful.
"I look forward to applying my business and football knowledge to collaborate with coaches, players, sponsors and our members, and to continue making our club somewhere you aspire to belong."
Ms Properjohn, who spent more than three decades serving with WA Police, also possesses substantial business, board, financial and leadership experience.
Aside from her recent leadership and culture position with the Lions, Ms Properjohn has spent time with Deloitte in Perth's financial advisory forensic practice.
Since October last year - the Lions, East Perth, Swan Districts, Perth and East Fremantle - have all appointed new CEOs, with a distinct focus on business and industry experience outside of Australian Rules Football.
Claremont Football Club boss Darcy Coffey, who spent considerable time in the development and football operations space at both the WAFC (East Perth football district) and Tigers between 2010 and 2018, is presently the longest serving CEO in the competition.
