Staying ahead of the curve remains Cedar Woods’ formula for success.

Offering products that embrace new and emerging styles has been Cedar Woods’ formula for success for more than three decades. Now a truly national developer, Cedar Woods has a built a reputation for creating developments that hold broad customer appeal.  This has been achieved via a relentless focus on the customer and a tenacity to deliver what the buyer wants, ahead of the curve.

Cedar Woods has created a national pipeline of more than 8,400 dwellings, across 30 projects, enabling the Company to offer a range of options to home buyers. Across four markets – Western Australia, South Australia, Queensland and Victoria – the Company’s diverse range of product types, from housing lots in masterplanned communities, to urban infill communities with townhouses and apartments, cater to the needs of different buyer groups.

Cedar Woods’ Managing Director, Nathan Blackburne, said, the Company has a wide range of products on offer, that suit varying price points and lifestyle choices.

“Our strength is our ability to respond to market trends nimbly and develop new housing communities that reflect customer needs, whether that be a move to more sustainable living in an environmentally conscious community or a built form, architecturally designed town home addressing the shifting lifestyle preferences of Australians.”

Cedar Woods’ ability to respond to underlying market trends has been integral to its ability to remain relevant especially when it comes to architecture and overall design.

This is evidenced by Cedar Woods’ Bushmead development which was conceived after the Company identified a movement towards more sustainable living. Bushmead responded to the environment conservation trend by offering blocks in a bush setting that gave buyers the tranquil, environmentally sustainable lifestyle they wanted along with the benefits of a well-connected location just 16km from the Perth CBD.

Bushmead is one of only a handful of communities in Western Australia to have been awarded Urban Development Institute of Australia’s 6-Leaf EnviroDevelopment Accreditation. With over 185 hectares preserved as pristine natural bushland, Cedar Woods’ Bushmead embraced the green spaces trend and spoke to the needs of customers by offering them a home surrounded by native flora, parks, walking trails and the tranquility of nature.

In recognition of its sustainability credentials, Bushmead was award the Environmental Excellence Award by the UDIA in 2020.

Beyond being a community shaped by nature, Bushmead also offers customers access to a range of environmental initiatives that contribute to sustainable living, such as a rainwater tank. By delivering against the sustainability trend, Bushmead has become one of the most popular estates in Cedar Woods’ WA portfolio.

In recent years, Cedar Woods has been quietly responding to state governments’ pursuit of infill development and development around new rail infrastructure, investing in strategic, major landholdings.

“Cedar Woods understands the emerging needs of new home buyers and how to create a high-quality built form product that appeals to them”, said Mr Blackburne.

New apartments at Cedar Woods’ Incontro in Subiaco are using the natural climate and smart passive design to make sure owners are not reliant on-air conditioning and power. Townhomes are designed according to orientation, maximising daylight while providing shade during summer. Whilst apartments and townhomes provide a desired compact lifestyle for customers, Cedar Woods has identified that common areas and green spaces where neighbours can connect is an important consideration for prospective buyers. In response, Incontro features Little Green, a stretch of parkland flowing through the spine of the development, creating a connecting passage for residents to socialise outdoors and get to know their neighbours.

Customers who have embraced the working from home trend are asking to incorporate additional flexi space into townhouse designs that can be used for an extra bedroom, entertainment room, study or even a gym. Cedar Woods’ Incontro has answered with the Fonzie flat – a flexible room above the garage.

Surrounded by some of South Australia’s most impressive historic architecture, Cedar Woods’ Glenside project is a sophisticated, masterplanned community offering a range of luxury living. Glenside fills the gap for customers looking for more space whilst still being surrounded by impressive design and amenity.

Cedar Woods continues to grow and thrive in a range of markets by delivering projects that address customer needs, fill gaps in the market and are designed in line with the latest urban living trends.

Cedar Woods recognises that no two customers are the same; the Company’s well-established strategy helps ensure that products have broad customer appeal, have something to offer many different buyer profiles and can perform well in a range of market conditions.
