Heritage minister Michelle Roberts has declined to approve a stop work order for the possible demolition of Cherrita, at 46 Waratah Ave, in Dalkeith - the home of former premier Sir Charles Court.

The order had been sought by the Heritage Council in order for it to consider interim registration.
"Sir Charles would be remembered more for his achievements on behalf of Western Australia than for where he lived," Mrs Roberts said.
The house, which is described as a suburban vernacular bungalow in style, is typical of the Inter-War period.
