Seven West Media has appointed John Driscoll as its regional chief executive for Western Australia.
Mr Driscoll will join Seven from Perth communications agency Marketforce, where he has been both chairman and chief executive, Seven said in a statement today.
He will step down as chief executive of Marketforce in September, at which point former GRA Everingham managing director Paul Everingham will take over.
Mr Driscoll, who has been in media and marketing for almost three decades, will lead the development of Seven's businesses in WA including TVW7 Perth, The West Australian, perthnow.com.au and Red Wave Radio.
He will also oversee Seven's major shareholding in the Community Newspaper Group.
Seven chief executive Tim Worner said Mr Driscoll has a proven track record in leading the growth of media businesses.
"We are all looking forward to working with him as we grow and get to know even better our huge audience in Western Australia," he said.
Seven West shares were up 1.0 cent, or 1.5 per cent, at 70 cents this morning.
