SRG Global has landed a $65 million contract for work on a 39-storey office development in the Sydney CBD.
The Subiaco-based engineering group was awarded a specialist facade contract to design, supply and install specialist engineered curtain wall facades at the Atlassian Building Central development.
The development is in the Central Station redevelopment site in Sydney, and would be the world’s tallest hybrid timber building at 39 storeys and 180 metres when built.
The Atlassian Central office tower is valued at $1.4 billion and would feature a glass and steel facade.
According to SRG’s announcement on the ASX, the contract is with the Built-Obayashi joint venture on behalf of Dexus Property Group.
The contract will start immediately and is expected to be completed in 2027.
“We are very proud to be a part of this world leading development project in Sydney with strong environmental sustainability credentials,” SRG managing director David Macgeorge said.
We look forward to continuing our longstanding relationships with both Built and Dexus; and in continuing our long track record in the delivery of significant and landmark projects in specialist façade construction in Australia.”
The proposed development will span about 75,000 square metres of floor area and will feature retail amenities, a 500-bed YHA hotel and public space around the station.
Atlassian is expected to occupy the office development under a 15-year lease.
The proposed office building will operate on 100 per cent renewable energy with zero emissions through natural ventilation and solar panels.
