Rio Tinto has increased its stake in Ivanhoe Mines with a payment of $C529.5 million ($A511.7 million).Under existing arrangements between the two companies, Ivanhoe will issue 27.9 million new shares to Rio Tinto subsidiary Rio Tinto International Holdings.
