Retail sales show sprightly jump

Retail trade rose by 0.6 per cent for the second month in a row in August. Despite the solid gain, annual growth came in at 2.1 per cent, a slow pace by historical standards, seasonally adjusted figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) on Wednesday showed.
