Security officers have escorted Premier Colin Barnett past shouting Aboriginal protesters from a venue in Kings Park after he outlined a native title settlement deal to Noongar people.
Around 70 protesters waving placards and Aboriginal flags delayed the premier's departure from the reception centre this morning.
Police escorted protesters away from the building's windows as the premier's minders worked out how he would leave the building.
At about 11.30am WST, Mr Barnett, surrounded by security officers in black suits, walked from the front of the building and was ushered into an official car as protesters shouted: "No deal, Barnett" and pressed in close.
The premier earlier outlined a $1 billion proposal to settle native title claims in the South West, with land transfers and cash funding.
Mr Barnett met with members of the South West Aboriginal Land and Sea Council to explain his government's settlement proposal.
The deal would extinguish all future native title claims for the area, but benefit an estimated 35,000 Noongar descendants.
