Developer SKS Group has updated its West Perth development, a multi-million-dollar project expected to bring in hundreds of rooms to the area.
Dubbed The Harvest, the 21-storey project on 581-583 Murray Street comprises 118 build-to-rent dwellings, 87 serviced apartments and ground floor retail space.
SKS Group recently received approval over the amendments to the development, which included redesigning the lobby, retail spaces, communal facilities and the inclusion of build-to-rent apartments.
A local development assessment panel approved the 21-storey project in mid-2023, which then comprises 117 residential apartments and 84 serviced apartments.
The build had an estimated cost of $52 million in 2023, but SKS has listed the gross development value as $132 million on its website.
SKS Group engaged Plus Studio in the redesign of the development.
In its statement, SKS Group said the inclusion of build-to-rent apartments would create purpose designed homes for long-term rental, with a single owner and professional management.
“This model can offer residents greater security of tenure, consistent maintenance and access to shared amenities, while helping to deliver high-quality rental housing close to Perth’s CBD,” the developer said.
“Together, the residential and short-stay components are designed to holistically support contemporary city living in a building that is fully electrical and guided by passive solar principles, helping to reduce operational emissions and support more efficient day-to-day running over time.”
SKS is working on another development, comprising 243 built-to-sell apartments, in Cockburn.
