Profit slump for Wesfarmers

WESFARMERS has recorded an expected slump in its half-yearly profit results. The company registered a profit for the first six months to December 31 2006 of $391.9 million, 12.3 per cent less than the corresponding period in 2005, due predominantly to lower export coal prices and increased costs.
