Shares in local explorer Primary Gold closed nearly 40 per cent higher on news it had recruited three new board members, who also happen to be shareholders in the company.
As part of a reshuffle, Northern Star Resources general manager Garry Mills, GR Engineering Services co-founder Tony Patrizi, and corporate lawyer Evan Cranston have joined the board of Primary, while managing director Clay Gordon has resigned.
It also follows the departure of Tim Manners as non-executive director in January.
Chairman Dale Rogers said he was pleased to welcome the three respected and well-credentialed mining professionals to the board as directors.
“I look forward to their combined experience and knowledge contributing to the advancement of the company,” he said.
Primary shares closed 37.1 per cent higher to 4.8 cents each.
Prior to his role at Northern Star, Mr Mills was operations manager at Dominion Mining and was also chief operating officer of Norseman Gold.
Mr Patrizi, a co-founder and executive director of GR Engineering, will bring more than 30 years of experience in the mining and mineral processing industry to his new role.
He has been involved in the construction of a number of gold processing plants.
Mr Cranston, meanwhile, is a corporate lawyer and the principal of Konkera Corporate.
He is also chairman of Boss Resources, and a director of ASX-listed companies Attila Resources, Carbine Resources, Clancy Exploration and Cradle Resources.
Primary is working towards the recommencement of mining at its wholly-owned Toms Gully gold mine, located in the Northern Territory.
The company also announced today it had completed its recently announced $668,318 share placement, which was lead managed by Patersons Securities.
