Panther Metals appears to have the tiger by the tail at its Burtville East project about 40km south-east of Laverton in WA, delivering another set of eye-catching gold results, including a 1m intercept running a bonanza 62.8 grams per tonne from 91m. The feature result sits inside a larger 10m strike grading 7.15 g/t gold from 84m and follows a phase one campaign that returned several compelling hits.
Other notable strikes include 7m at 3.69 g/t gold from 61m, 4m going 17.2 g/t gold from 90m and 7m grading 1.17 g/t gold from 75m. Whilst one of the longer results ran 12m long at 1.24 g/t gold from 88m.
The company’s latest round of drilling includes a program of 577 RC meters and 2 diamond drill holes for 147m – one displaying visible gold from 48.6m downhole. The core from the diamond drilling is currently awaiting testing in the lab.
Panther’s recent activity forms part of a larger phase two campaign at Burtville East and continues a run of solid form after the mineral explorer tabled a cracking set of intercepts in the earlier phase.
Results from the phase one program include a 15m intercept running 54 g/t gold from 27m. Enticingly, the hit housed 4 separate bonanza-grade intervals; 1m at 79.90 g/t gold from 27m, 1m at 478 g/t gold from 28m, 1m at 125.50 g/t gold from 34m and 1m at 43.80 g/t gold from 35m.
Historical work at Burtville East has also returned bonanza-gold grades with 1m intervals up to 110 g/t gold and a 5m interval at 23 g/t gold.
After posting the latest set of precious metal strikes management argue the intercepts added confidence to its geological model and the company will now continue to review its new data ahead of additional exploration.
The Burtville East gold project sits within the Laverton greenstone belt and the Eastern Yilgarn craton – an area highly prospective for gold but still considered largely under-explored by Panther.
The mineral explorer’s project is bordered by several profitable gold operations, including the 2.7-million-ounce Granny Smith deposit about 30km to the west and the larger Wallaby and Sunrise Dam deposits about 50km away.
Burtville East is also nearby to Focus Minerals’ Burtville-Karriadale project, where the company recently announced it had outlined an exploration target of 2.9 to 5.3 million ounces of gold.
Panther is on a good run of form at Burtville East and the company will be eager to dive into more drilling as it looks to carve out more gold at the project.
