Optus to pitch InteliCare to aged-care sector clients

Smart tech healthcare developer, InteliCare has clinched a five-year master supply agreement with Optus Networks that paves the way for Optus to pitch InteliCare’s smart monitoring systems to its health and aged-care sector clients. InteliCare’s “InteliLiving” and “InteliCare Pro” systems learn the daily behavioural patterns of the sick and the elderly and report to family members or a healthcare professional if there is a departure from normal behaviour.

Under the terms of the deal, Optus will add InteliCare’s smart monitoring system to its toolkit when pitching for new business clients or even existing clients in the health and aged-care sectors.

Optus will have the right to resell InteliCare’s service to its business clients under a future supply contract. It means an aged-care facility, for example, that signs on with Optus for its general IT and telecommunications package can now be offered InteliCare’s monitoring system as part of the package.

InteliCare’s basic monitoring system known as InteliLiving comprises off-the-shelf movement monitors that are linked to InteliCare’s proprietary artificial intelligence software, which learns the daily behavioural patterns of a sick or elderly person over time.

Any major departure from that “normal” pattern will result in a family member or healthcare provider being notified via InteliCare’s app.

The InteliCare Pro system is the commercial offering from InteliCare that incorporates all the features of InteliLiving into a large dashboard allowing multiple patients in a hospital or aged-care facility, for example, to be monitored at the same time. It is this system that InteliCare is looking to partner on with Optus for its existing and new health and aged-care sector business clients.

InteliCare Chief Executive Officer, Jason Waller said: “This agreement allows us to quickly expand our sales pipeline with a significant and very credible partner that recognises the value of our unique technology.”

InteliCare says that due to the quality and size of the Optus client base, any supply contracts that flow as a result of the new partnership are likely to be “material”.

The Optus deal continues InteliCare’s push into indirect sales channels via distributors who have significant existing business and consumer client bases. In the December quarter, the company increased its distributor sales channels by 45 per cent to 16 entities across Australia.

The company recently completed the integration of a radar-based vitals monitoring sensor into the InteliCare Pro dashboard and the InteliLiving mobile application. The sensor enables carers to view key biometric vital sign information associated with a resident’s wellbeing.

InteliCare’s push into indirect sales channels and in particular, its deal with Optus, will allow it to focus on the ongoing development of its products and the monitoring systems whilst others lever their existing client bases to do the hard yards selling the product.

As far as third-party distributors go, Optus is a whale and may well plug a material amount of business into the ASX-listed InteliCare over time.
