Over the past 12 months, Onslow Marine Support Base (OMSB) has undergone a step change in capability. What began as a single, purpose-built marine supply base at Beadon Creek has now evolved into a comprehensive dual-port operation spanning both the OMSB facility and the Port of Ashburton.
This evolution means customers can now access a full suite of marine logistics services across two strategically located ports, just 17 kilometres apart, delivered with the consistency, cost-effectiveness, and flexibility that OMSB is known for.
A Clear Service Offering
One of the most important outcomes of this growth is clarity. OMSB is not a landlord model or a broker of services – we deliver them directly. Our residential stevedores are part of our team, living in Onslow, and available on call to support client operations 24/7. This means faster mobilisation, greater reliability, and the confidence that comes from working with people who know the port, the vessels, and the region.
Whether a client requires discharge at Beadon Creek or at the Port of Ashburton, OMSB provides the stevedores, cranes, and heavy-lift solutions to get the job done safely and efficiently. Customers do not need to go elsewhere – the capability is built into our business.

Dual-Port Advantage
Operating across both the OMSB facility and the Port of Ashburton, we can accommodate a wide range of vessel types and project requirements:
- Beadon Creek (OMSB facility): purpose-built base with 31,000m² of heavy-rated hardstand, LCT ramps, crane pads, and licensed for hazardous cargo, NORM, and dangerous goods. Importantly, Beadon Creek also offers highly cost-effective rates, making it the most commercially attractive option in the region.
- Port of Ashburton: deep-water port with more than 300m of berth line, enabling larger vessel operations and integration with onshore supply chains.
Together, these sites give clients over 600m of berth line and seamless coordination across two ports – something no other operator in the region can provide.
A Depth of Capability
Today, OMSB’s service portfolio includes:
- Stevedoring and cargo handling across both ports
- Heavy lift, cranage, and project cargo
- Fuel and water supply (with upgrades under way to expand to 900,000L of fuel and 800,000L of potable water)
- Licensed handling of dangerous goods and NORMs
- Waste management and decommissioning support in partnership with the Pilbara Regional Waste Management Facility
- End-to-end marine logistics planning and campaign support
Certainty on Industrial Relations
OMSB is also unique in that our quayside services are covered by an MUA-endorsed enterprise agreement. For customers, this means peace of mind – there is no exposure to unexpected IR disputes or industrial action when using OMSB. It’s certainty, in an environment where certainty is increasingly hard to come by.
Why It Matters
For operators in the Carnarvon Basin and wider Pilbara, this clarity of service means reduced uncertainty, faster turnaround, and fewer hand-offs between contractors. By engaging OMSB, customers can plan and execute their campaigns with confidence, knowing they have a single, integrated logistics partner across both Onslow ports – with competitive rates and IR stability built in.
Looking Ahead
With multiple campaigns already underway and major upgrades due in 2026, OMSB is building the infrastructure and capability to service the offshore energy industry for decades to come. From oil and gas to renewables and decommissioning, Onslow now has a logistics partner ready to meet the region’s next wave of demand.
