Nine Entertainment has signed a two-year broadcast rights agreement with the National Basketball League for an undisclosed amount.
The deal, which will come into effect from the 2026-27 NBL season, will result in two games broadcast each weekend on free-to-air across the 9Network and 9Now.
“Having two games broadcasted live every week is a major win for fans and a powerful platform to continue growing the game,” NBL Group chief executive David Stevenson told the league’s website on Wednesday.
“We’re incredibly excited to partner with Nine, whose scale and storytelling capability will help bring the energy of the NBL to more homes, create new fans and elevate the visibility of our clubs and players.
“We also want to sincerely thank Network 10 for their outstanding partnership and commitment to the NBL over recent seasons.
“Their support has played a pivotal role in driving the league’s biggest ever growth across attendance, digital engagement and free-to-air audiences.”
Along with the free-to-air agreement, all NBL matches will still be broadcast live on ESPN.
Wednesday’s announcement follows news last week that Nine had signed a five-year agreement with Netball Australia – where it will broadcast every Suncorp Super Netball, Australian Diamonds and 2027 Netball World Cup match across its 9Network, 9Now and Stan Sport platforms between 2027 and 2031.
