Monadelphous said new maintenance contracts and contract extensions totaled around $140 million, and included a three years contract with Queensland Alumina; a one year maintenance deal with Rio Tinto Dampier Salt; a one year extension of services for Chevron at Barrow and Thevenard islands; and support of BHP Billiton's Olympic Dam project in South Australia for a further three years.
Also, Monadelphous announced new construction contracts worth a collective $60 million.
They include structural mechanical work for Rio Tinto at Cape Lambert; a contract with MCC Mining for pipe works at the Sino Iron project at Cape Preston; a mechanical and electrical installation package for Rio Tinto Alcan Boyne Smelters in Queensland; electrical and instrumentation installation for Newcrest Lihir Gold at its Lihir Island, Papua New Guinea project; and the construction of a waste water treatment plan for the Clarence Valley council in NSW.
"These contracts reflect the importance we place on developing and maintaining long term relationships with quality customers," Monadelphous managing director Rob Velletri said.
At close of trade today Monadelphous stocks inched upwards 0.7 per cent to trade at $19.54.
